Mr. Staples has mediated disputes in patent, trademark/trade dress, and copyright matters. He served as the chief arbitrator of a three-member panel in a complex trademark case handling discovery disputes and pretrial matters, and presiding over a lengthy hearing with multiple lay witnesses and several expert witnesses. He has served as special master/advisor to the Superior Court of Washington in a trade secret lawsuit, taking testimony, directing briefing, and providing findings and recommendations to the Court. Mr. Staples is on the International Trademark Law Panel of Trademark Mediators.
