AIPLA Statement Against Violence

As a community, we stand together in condemning the acts of violence against Asian Americans that have occurred over the past year.

As a national bar organization, we have an obligation to our fellow members and the IP community to uphold values that encourage inclusiveness and foster diversity in all facets of service. Diversity has always been a cornerstone of the AIPLA mission, as manifested in our Diversity Mission Statement adopted more than a decade ago.

Recent events are an awful reminder that much work remains.  We must unite to support each other, both personally and professionally, now more than ever.  In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and test of our civilization.” AIPLA embraces justice and peace for all.

Let us ensure that AIPLA and the entire IP community are places where we listen to and value each other’s experiences and perspectives.
