AIPLA Issues Statement on the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act of 2023

ARLINGTON, VA - The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) released the following statement on the introduction of the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act of 2023: 


AIPLA welcomes the introduction of the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act of 2023, which recognizes the critical need to address the state of subject matter eligibility in patent law. AIPLA supports efforts to provide much needed clarity in this critical area of intellectual property law.  We wish to express our deep appreciation to Senator Tillis and Senator Coons for their valuable leadership and longstanding commitment to this important matter. 


AIPLA President Brian Batzli said, “As an Association with a profound belief in the importance of intellectual property, patent subject matter eligibility is an issue of great consequence to our members. We look forward to working with Congress as this significant and complex issue moves forward.”
