James Beebe is Executive Counsel, Intellectual Property for Baker Hughes Company, an energy technology company. James is responsible for the identification and protection of technologies and services developed by Baker Hughes’ oilfield and industrial chemical business. Additionally, he leads the IP operations team at Baker Hughes. Before the merger of Baker Hughes and GE Oil & Gas, James was Senior Counsel, Intellectual Property serving as IP counsel for several product lines and worked closely with the security team, HR, and legal to develop procedures to protect IP related to on-boarding and exiting employees. He is also Adjunct Profession of Law at the University of Houston Law Center where he teaches Trade Secret Law.
James has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University, a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He is Licensed Professional Engineer (Inactive) in Texas and a member of the Nancy Atlas Houston IP Inn of Court.
