Dr. Travis W. Bliss is a partner at the IP boutique Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel. Travis’s practice is largely focused on obtaining, licensing, monetizing, and enforcing IP protections for inventions relating to biology and life sciences, including a large focus on all types of IP protection for novel plant varieties and related inventions in the agriculture, horticulture, and cannabis/hemp industries. His efforts in IP counseling and procurement in the cannabis and hemp space have allowed Travis to be ranked as a “Band 1” attorney in the area of Cannabis Law by Chambers USA in 2019. Prior to entering the legal profession, Travis earned both a bachelor of science degree and a Ph.D. from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Delaware, with course work and research that focused on animal and plant genetics, molecular immunology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics
