Clint focuses his practice on trademark and copyright counseling, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation. He has spent his career helping clients of all sizes navigate the trademark registration process and successfully enforcing those rights. He provides practical advice to clients to assist them in selecting and enforcing their trademarks consistent with their goals.
Clint is particularly adept and experienced in representing clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Clint has assisted clients in a wide variety of industries in both enforcing their rights and defending their rights before the TTAB, and he understands the TTAB process and guides the firm’s clients through the initial pleadings stage, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial. Both at Kelly IP and before joining the firm, Clint has been heavily involved in many favorable TTAB decisions on the merits, including authoring a winning trial brief. He also assists clients in all aspects of litigation in federal district courts. He also frequently helps clients to achieve favorable enforcement resolutions during all stages of litigation and prior to litigation commencing.
Clint has been recognized for his excellent trademark litigation skills by The Legal 500, which has named Clint as a Rising Star for Trademarks: Litigation in both 2020 and 2021. Clint has also had the honor of speaking multiple times about the TTAB’s Grounds for Opposition and Cancellation at the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) annual Trademark Boot Camp.
Prior to joining Kelly IP, Clint was an associate at a general practice firm in Texas where he focused on all aspects of trademark, copyright, and computer law. Clint is admitted to practice in DC and Texas.
