Joseph Drayton is a first chair trial lawyer who has represented the nation’s largest enterprises in competitive and strategic litigation involving varied forms of technology. Joe’s mission as a lawyer is to find solutions to issues and disputes plaguing clients. Joe's practice background includes a broad range of intellectual property and complex commercial matters.

• Represented Bumble in successful resolution of patent, trademark and trade secrets dispute in the Western District of Texas
• Represented Bloomberg in successful pre-trial dismissal of patent and trade secrets
dispute in the Southern District of New York
• Represented a leading Technologies Companies in successful pre-trial dismissal of patent dispute in the Eastern District of Texas
• Represented Blackhawk Network, a subsidiary of Safeway, at trial in a patent infringement suit brought by Incomm resulting in favorable verdict.
• Represented Pier 1 Imports in a patent infringement suit resulting in defense verdict.
Joe is routinely recognized as one of the top lawyers in the US by several legal directories and publications. In 2019 and 2020, Law Dragon recognized Joe as one of its 500 Leading Lawyers. In June 2018, he was named a "Distinguished Leader" by the New York Law Journal. He is named a “Client Service All-Star” by BTI Consulting Group (2016-2017) for “delivering superior client service" and was named in multiple years to the IAM Patent 1000 list, a recognition that honors the top patent practitioners in the world. In 2015 and 2018, he was named one of the "most influential black lawyers" by Savoy Magazine. He has also been recognized by the New York City Bar

Joe served as the 76th President of the National Bar Association, and is a Vice President and former chair of the Executive Committee of the New York Bar Association. He serves as on the ABA Standing Committee for the Federal Judiciary and the ABA Section of Litigation Council. Joe is a proud graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the University of Maryland, College Park (Electrical Engineering).
