Kevin is computer engineer with several years of experience in-house and as a senior component design engineer at one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers. He has nearly two decades of experience in USPTO post-grant proceedings and currently leads Dentons post-grant team. Kevin has handled 100s of post-grant proceedings at the USPTO, including reexams, interferences, reissues, IPRs, and PGRs. He also counsels clients on patent prosecution, litigation, and transactions.
Kevin uses his strong technical background to advice small and large companies on portfolio management, technical analysis, and strategic counseling, with an emphasis on computer architecture, e-commerce, data communication networks, software, circuit design, semiconductors, and microelectronic fabrication. His broad experience in patent law influences his advice from filing an application to defending or challenging issued patents. He also works with the group's experienced and technically trained patent lawyers and litigators in Dentons' Intellectual Property and Technology practice group, which has more than 100s lawyers and professionals worldwide. Kevin’s strong relationships with international patent attorneys and litigators enables unique and efficient resolutions to all manner of patent matters.
Kevin is frequently cited as a leader in the patent industry. Intellectual Asset Management identified Kevin among its “World's Leading Patent Professionals" from 2015 to present. Kevin has also held various senior leadership roles in professional associations, including patent-focused committees at the Intellectual Property Owners Association's (IPO) American Bar Association's Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL). He has helped influence policy and rulemaking at the USPTO prosecution and post-grant proceedings. He writes and lectures frequently on patent and intellectual property law. Recently, including lecturing on strategic counseling at Georgetown University.
Kevin lives on a small family farm, where he enjoys cycling on hundreds of miles of gravel roads.
