Hilary Jochmans is the Founder of Jochmans Consulting LLC, a boutique government affairs practice assisting clients in advocating for public policy measures impactful to their business. Clients include leaders in the areas of fashion, economic development, financial services, law and social justice. Previously, she was the Director of the NYS Governor’s Office in DC where she served as the Governor’s chief liaison with Congressional leadership and the Administration. Hilary also spent a dozen years on Capitol Hill as senior staff in both the House and Senate. Hilary holds a B.A. from the

University of Virginia and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.

Hilary is also the Founder of PoliticallyInFashion, an engagement community for everyone in fashion to learn about legislative and regulatory issues of key importance to the industry. The mission is to educate individuals on public policy; and empower them with this knowledge; to then engage with elected representatives on how these issues impact companies and consumers.

Recent initiatives from PoliticallyInFashion include spearheading advocacy with brands and thought-leaders for the creation of a Fashion Czar in the US and ‘Calls to Action’ for the Federal Trade Commission to update the Green Guides and include textiles in the recycling conversation. These endeavors have been featured in WWD, Vogue Business.
