Aaron Johnson advises both domestic and international clients on patent procurement, patent portfolio analysis, due diligence investigations, and contentious proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has managed intellectual property matters for clients ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations, leveraging years of experience as a patent examiner and an information technology consultant.
Aaron has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including fluid dynamics, computer-aided anatomical modeling, cloud technologies, cache memory management, load balancing, software-defined networking overlays, analytics techniques, mesh networks, in-line service chains, electrical control systems, semiconductors, Wi-Fi/wireless techniques, multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) communications, big data solutions, distributed storage and processing, geofencing, and global positioning system (GPS) techniques. He is proficient in, and has developed software applications using numerous programming languages including C, C++, Java, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Perl, XML, and others.
Prior to joining Bookoff McAndrews, Aaron practiced law at two leading intellectual property boutique law firms. Aaron also worked as a patent examiner at the USPTO, where he reviewed patent applications concerning data encryption, compression algorithms, telecommunications, document processing techniques, Internet-related technologies and graphical user interfaces.
