Adam R. Stephenson, LTD | Patent Attorney
Adam is a registered patent attorney in private practice focusing on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution as founder of the firm IPTechLaw which represents clients ranging from the Fortune 500, privately held companies of all sizes, and independent entrepreneurs in a wide range of technical areas. Adam is a member of the Appeals to the PTAB Committee of the PTAB Bar Association, and a member of the Patent Office Practice Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners’ Association. Curious about examiner-level patent data since preparing a law school law review article, Adam’s interest in ex parte appeals led him to co-found a company that developed the first commercial database of ex parte appeals decisions. Since that time as an active hands-on patent prosecutor, Adam has worked to determine what examiner data is most useful in prosecution in informing day-to-day patent prosecution decisions. Licensed in Arizona, Texas, and the USPTO, Adam has spoken on the topic of ex parte appeals, IP ethics, and many other patent law issues at various AIPLA conferences and webinars and at events with the Dallas Bar Association, the Center for American and International Law, the Utah IP Summit, and the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona.
