Jeremias studied physics at the Technical University (RWTH) in Aachen. In 2013 he completed his final thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) on laser processing (laser fusion cutting). Thereafter, he was a scientific staff member at the Welding and Joining Institute of the RWTH. Jeremias joined Hoffmann Eitle, a pan-European IP boutique headquartered in Munich, in 2015. He qualified as a European patent attorney in 2018 and as a German patent attorney in 2019.
Jeremias is involved in procurement of IP rights and inter partes cases on utility patents, i.e., in opposition proceedings before the German office and courts, in opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO, and in German infringement and nullity actions.
Jeremias handles a diverse portfolio of cases in the mechanical arts with a focus on physics, especially optics and laser physics. He puts a special emphasis on semiconductors and medical devices. His clients are predominantly headquartered in the US, which he regularly visits.
