Gender Bias in the Courtroom: Perception or Reality?

This presentation reviews historical and recent findings of social-science research on how jurors perceive female attorneys.  Dr. Marinakis will provide a recap of her own research on how presentation style can help or hinder the effects of gender bias in the courtroom.  She also provides advice on how best to overcome the challenges of being a female member of the trial team and strategies for capitalizing on its advantages.  Additional studies and psychological concepts will ultimately demonstrate the benefits of a diverse trial team.
