Jeff is a seasoned, complex trial lawyer, focusing his practice for 29 years on disputes involving intellectual property in US federal courts and agencies and before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Jeff’s IP litigation practice is concentrated on the high-tech and life sciences industries. Over the past 15 years, Jeff has represented both branded and generic companies in patent disputes arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act, building and leading teams focused on district court litigation, inter partes review proceedings, and appeals in approximately 40 cases. In this capacity, Jeff counsels clients in navigating the regulatory, patent, and antitrust issues unique to pharmaceutical litigation. -

John A. Scott is Vice President and Legal Counsel at Qualcomm Incorporated, where he has managed patent, trade secrets and other commercial litigation matters since 2007 in both US and foreign jurisdictions. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the US International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Welsh Inn of Court in San Diego. He has been a frequently invited speaker at conferences put on by The Sedona Conference, the Naples Patent Roundtable, the IPO and American Conference Institute, among others. Before joining Qualcomm, he was with the litigation group at Morrison & Foerster LLP in Palo Alto and San Diego, California. -

Lisa Ulrich is Intellectual Property Counsel for IBM located in Armonk, NY. Lisa holds responsibility for evaluating IBM’s worldwide engagement in standards development organizations. In addition, Lisa negotiates contracts and provides IP legal guidance for merger and acquisition activities for IBM’s Sales & Services business unit. Lisa also leads IBM’s corporate trademark enforcement team. Lastly, Lisa provides strategic advice on legislative and policy IP issues with a focus on improving diversity within the profession, both among inventors and IP professionals.
